With a clear target to produce net zero carbon homes, LINQ already has the capability to support site-specific energy strategies thanks to its ergonomic design

September 15, 2017  /  By App Support

Underpinned by a commitment to ensure a more sustainable approach to construction, LINQ’s engineers were tasked with designing a net zero carbon home that would not only be made from sustainable resources, but furthermore relied on consuming as little energy as possible, both during and at the end of its lifecycle.

Starting with its bespoke factory in Dubai, LINQ designed each of its houses to be protected against air and moisture intrusion. By insulating the floors, walls and ceilings, energy consumption for the end user significantly drops, not only helping the environment, but also hedging against unnecessarily expensive utility bills. As an added benefit, all LINQ properties include a continuous ventilation system, which helps to extract old air and replace it with new, all while utilising a heat recovery system that recycles heat back into the house as required.

As a sustainably property, LINQ leverages solar energy through its strategically placed solar photovoltaic panels, which maximize the operational cost-efficiency of the home by running the lighting, heating, appliances and cooling systems.

As a final touch, all LINQ-designed homes come equipped with a highly efficient, ductless heat pump to reduce costs on the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) system, each of which include air and drain water heat recovery devices, which efficiently harvest and reuse energy that’s typically lost through external exhausts.

While, there is always room for improvement, LINQ’s initial offering will be a highly sought-after, turnkey solution for any developer looking to provide their new community with high-quality, durable and cost-effective homes that will simultaneously take a giant leap towards a sustainable solution for our planet.
